Draka Comteq
Draka Comteq is a company in which
Draka and Alcatel have combined their global optical fibre and communication
cable businesses. Draka owns 50.1% of Draka Comteq and Alcatel 49.9%.
The company has a comprehensive product portfolio across fibre and
fibre cable, addressing the full range of telecommunication and
data communication applications. Draka Comteqs product portfolio
also includes a comprehensive copper telecommunication and data
communication cable product range.
In fibre and fibre cable, the company is the undisputed number one
in China, is a leader in Europe and a major player in North America.
In copper telecommunication and data communication, Draka Comteq
is a leading player in Europe.
In Brazil, all these products are
manufactured and commercialized through a Draka Company operating
company, Telcon.
Telcon has modern instalations, projected for the development and
production of wires and cables, following the highest technology
standards.
Draka Worldwide
Draka Holding N.V. ("Draka") is the holding company of
a number of operating companies which are engaged worldwide in the
development, production and sale of cable and cable systems. Draka's
operations are centred on its Telecommunication Cable and Systems
Product Group and Low-Voltage and Special-Purpose Cable Product
Group.
Draka has 59 operating companies
in 25 countries in Europe, America and Asia. The company has a flat,
decentralized organizational structure, in which the operating companies
enjoy a large measure of independence and are accountable for their
own net turnover and results. Draka companies worldwide employ approximately
7,850 people. Draka Holding N.V. head office is established in Amsterdam.
In 2003, Draka achieved net turnover of Euro 1.4 billion, with a
net result of Euro 11.2 million. Draka Holding N.V. ordinary shares
and subordinated convertible debentures are listed on Euronext Amsterdam.
The company has been included in the Next150 index since 2001. As
from 8 July 2002 options on Draka-shares are traded on the Euronext
Amsterdam Derivative Markets.
Alcatel Worldwide
Alcatel provides communications solutions to telecommunication
carriers, Internet service providers and enterprises for delivery
of voice, data and video applications to their customers or to their
employees. Alcatel leverages its leading position in fixed and mobile

its customers in the framework of a broadband world. With sales

Telcon in Latin America
Telcon is a Join Venture in which Draka Comteq own 50% and Mastercom
own 50%. Located in the city of Sorocaba, State of São Paulo
- Brasil, the company is engaged in the production and sale of optical
and copper cables for telecommunication and data transmission. The
company supply cables in all South America countries, with annual
sales over dollars 30 Millions.
